NBA: Anderson signs with the Grizzlies – do the Spurs match?

Kyle Anderson has signed an offer sheet of $37.2 million over four years with Memphis Grizzlies, ESPN reports. Now it’s the turn of the San Antonio Spurs.

Since Anderson is a restricted free agent, the Spurs can match the offer, but the decision has apparently not yet been made. They have 48 hours to decide if they want to keep Anderson.

According to the report, Anderson was a top target for the Grizzlies, who were urgently looking for a new Small Forward, right from the start of the Free Agency. The defensive forward is intended to bring Memphis back to the old “grit and grind” identity.

At the Spurs last season, Anderson made his fourth, 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. If the franchise were to trade Kawhi Leonard and keep Anderson, he would probably play an even greater role than in recent years.

However, it is currently not quite clear where the journey at the Spurs leads. On Friday, the long-time point guard Tony Parker also decided to change scenes and signed for two years and 10 million dollars with the Charlotte Hornets.
