NBA: 2OT Thriller! Hart leads the Lakers into the final against Portland

As last year, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers will face each other in the Las Vegas final. The Lakers needed two extensions and two monster performances – the blazers, on the other hand, needed coolness from the free-throw line.

So ran the semi-finals of the Summer League in Las Vegas.

Points: Josh Hart (37) – Colin Sexton (27)

Rebounds: Josh Hart (9) – Okaro White (9)

Assists: Xavier Rathan-Mayes (9) – Scoochie Smith (5)

Things can also be really dramatic in the Summer League. This semi-final made this clear: the pendulum swung back and forth over the entire second half and in the end it took two overtimes to determine the winner. It was to be the Lakers, mainly thanks to Xavier Rathan-Mayes, who first served Jeff Ayres for a dunk in the second extra time and shortly after brought the decision himself by layup.

Rathan-Mayes finished the game with 12 points and 9 assists, Ayres scored 20 points, while Josh Hart (37 points, 9 rebounds, 6/15 3FG), who again heard some MVP, MVP shouts during the game, and Svi Mykhailiuk (31 points, 6/11 3FG), who looks more and more like another steal for the Lakers. Isaac Bonga was only used for two minutes in this game, although Alex Caruso, an important guard, was missing – apart from 1 rebound, the German did not appear in the boxing score.

In the Cavs, No.8 pick Collin Sexton drew attention once again, his 5 ball losses could certainly be overcome at 27 points. Jamel Artis and John Holland scored 17 points each for the Cavs, Scoochie Smith scored 14 points from the bank. Nevertheless, the Summer League is now over for Cleveland.

Points: Archie Goodwin (22) – Brandon Goodwin (27)

Rebounds: Caleb Swanigan (16) – Christian Watford, Kobi Simmons (6)

Assists: Wade Baldwin IV (4) – Jevon Carter (4)

In the early stages, Memphis had mostly had the upper hand in this game, leading by up to 7 points. In the third quarter, however, the tide turned and Portland has since pulled away to 11 points. They then took this cushion with them into the final phase, and even if Memphis once again came within striking distance thanks to the strong Brandon Goodwin (27 points), it should finally be enough.

This was mainly because the blazers in the final minutes in the person of Archie Goodwin, who scored at 22 points 14/16 from the free-throw line, remained cool on Charity Stripe. Almost everything ran via Reserve Guard in the final phase, scoring 13 of his 22 points in the last quarter alone. Previously, Caleb Swanigan (21 points, 16 rebounds), Zach Collins (13 and 12) and John Jenkins (13) had thrown the show in the offense.

In the Grizzlies, Kobi Simmons (23 points) and Markel Crawford (19) were the most notable, while No.4-pick Jaren Jackson, Dillon Brooks, Ivan Rabb and Wayne Selden were not used.

Thus it comes in the final in the night on Wednesday to the new edition of last year’s Championship Games of Las Vegas. That was when the Lakers, led by Kyle Kuzma, won against the Blazers.
