NFL: Gordon returns to the Cleveland Browns

Wide receiver Josh Gordon returns to the Cleveland Browns. The Wide Receiver confirmed on Saturday via Twitter that he will join the team again after his absence of several weeks. Gordon has had problems with alcohol, drugs and depression in the past.

“Thank you for your love, support and above all your patience,” Gordon said to the Cleveland Browns and the NFL family. He took the time to devote to his mental and physical health, he explained – “a difficult path, therefore I am very grateful for all of you.

Gordon had announced on July 23 that he would not come to the Browns Training Camp to attend to personal matters. It remained unclear when he would return. The extremely talented Wideout had been suspended and banned several times because of drugs and alcohol and had already spent time in a rehab clinic. “To reach my full potential, I must continue to concentrate fully on my sobriety and mental health,” he wrote on Saturday.

The Browns stated in a statement that Brown would be slowly integrated into the team: “His health is the most important thing,” said GM John Dorsey. Gordon will initially only attend the meetings and fitness training and, depending on his progress, enter the football specific training.

Gordon has only played ten games in the NFL since his breakthrough in 2013. The Cleveland Browns are hoping for the 27-year-old to finally be able to compete again after a season without a win.
