NBA: Former MIP Diaw ends his career

Boris Diaw last played in the NBA in 2017, now after a season in France with the Levallois Metropolitans he has finally ended his professional career. The Frenchman declared his resignation in keeping with his rank.

Diaw published a video via Twitter showing him on a boat, together with his long-time team mates from the French national team and from the NBA, Ronny Turiaf and Tony Parker. In it he explained that his career was now over.

“I’m happy when I look back on my career,” says the 36-year-old. “I did what I had to do. And I don’t see it as a resignation, but as the beginning of a new life.”

Diaw won the championship with Parker and the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, in 2006 he became most improved player in the Phoenix Suns dress after completing his best season with 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

The Big Man was 21th in 2003 and played in 14 NBA seasons for the Atlanta Hawks, the Charlotte Bobcats and the Utah Jazz alongside Phoenix and San Antonio.
