MLB: Colorado fears for record holders

The Colorado Rockies are worried about Trevor Story. The shortstop had to leave the 2:8-bankruptcy against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday with elbow problems.

The team announced after the game that the story would be examined in more detail on Tuesday. Until then, it was only elbow pain in the right arm.

Story swung past a pitch by Hyunjin Ryu in the fourth inning. He then stepped out of the Batter’s Box and fell briefly to his knees. After a brief meeting with manager Bud Black and Physio Keith Dugger, he finally left the game.

For Story Pat Valaika took over, who ended the at-bat with a fly-out and ended the encounter as a shortstop.

A longer failure would be a bitter loss for the Rockies, who lost the lead in NL West to Los Angeles due to the bankruptcy. Story is the first shortstop in the history of MLB with at least 40 doubles, 30 home runs and 25 stolen bases in one season.

He beats .288 with 33 home runs – franchise record for a shortstop – and 102 RBI.
