NBA: Zeh-OP: Love is cancelled for a long time

The Cleveland Cavaliers have to do without Kevin Love for a long time. As the franchise announced on Friday, the Power Forward was operated on the toe and its status will be re-examined in six weeks.

Love had already said earlier this week that he was in pain and not sure how long to pause. Already in the preseason he had injured his toe and had some problems running normally, let alone playing.

Love has therefore so far only played in four season games for the Cavs, in which he scored 19 points and 13.5 rebounds on average. Only last summer Love had signed a contract extension of four years and 120 million dollars in Cleveland.

The situation with the Cavs does not become more pleasant by the injury exactly. During the week Cleveland had dismissed coach Tyronn Lue, but so far the position of a successor has still not been clarified because lead assistant Larry Drew wants a new contract before he officially becomes interim coach.
