NFL: Lynch locked after out-of-roundness

The NFL has suspended Marshawn Lynch for a game on Thursday evening after his outburst against Kansas City Chiefs. The Oakland Raiders’ running back was added from the sidelines during a match on the pitch, causing contact with an umpire. Lynch has apparently protested the lockdown.

In the tumult that arose in the second quarter of the game after Marcus Peters made a late hit against Derek Carr, Lynch grabbed referee Julian Mapp on the jersey and pushed him. For the incident, the back was expelled from the game.

In an official letter from the League, Lynch was informed:”You deliberately provoked physical contact with an official when he was actively trying to resolve a confrontation between players. They were disqualified for inappropriate and unsportsmanlike behaviour. “Her behavior included pushing an umpire and packing his jersey.”

According to media reports, Lynch has already protested the lockdown. However, if it is valid, he must waive his cheque for the game in the amount of $79,411.

Lynch has been playing a mixed season since his arrival at the Raiders. In the seven games of the season to date, the 31-year-old has recorded 3.7 yards per attempt. On average, Lynch runs for 38 yards per game and in 2017 he ran twice into the final zone.
