MLB: Brilliant Peacock keeps Dodgers cold

The Houston Astros have won World Series match 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 and have taken the lead in the series. Already in the second inning, the Texans made the preliminary decision with a four-round inning, from which the guests did not recover despite the best chances.

Lance McCullers Jr. encountered Yu Darvish and although the Japanese man may have been the better pitcher on paper, the Japanese man had problems at an early age. He didn’t even survive the second inning after Yuli Gurriel had defeated his team with a home run and the colleagues had three more runs.

The Dodgers had the chance to equalise in the third inning, but Corey Seager missed the chance to catch up with loaded bases in a double play. Los Angeles then had another good opportunity in the sixth inning, but they didn’t manage more than two runs thanks to an outstanding relief appearance by Brad Peacock.

Game 4 of the series will take place directly in the night to Sunday again in Houston. For the Astros, Charlie Morton will start, while the Dodgers will bet on left-handed Alex Wood. The game will be played on Sunday at 2 a. m. at the LIVESTREAM FOR FREE.

World Series, Game 3: Houston Astros – Los Angeles Dodgers 5:3 – Series 2-1 BOXSCORE

Astros’ defensive approach did a strong job and produced outs even in very difficult situations. Even in the fourth inning, when Yasiel Puig managed to get a single, there was an out: Third baseman Alex Bregman distracted the ball, so Shortstop Carlos Correa didn’t get to it. But when Puig finally started to the second base, Correa was there and ejected the Cuban. The double play in the third inning with loaded bases with Corey Seager on the record was also worth seeing.

The Astros had just scored four runs in the second inning, taking Yu Darvish out of the game, and the Dodgers were threatening to do damage. After the long break through the great inning of Houston, McCullers had lost his rhythm and distributed three walks in a row. But with loaded bases, Corey Seager struck into a double play – a 3-6-1 double play based on excellent defense – which allowed a run, but prevented a big rally.

The right-hander took over for McCullers in the sixth inning with one out and two runners on base. Although he allowed these two runs – via Puig’s RBI-Groundout and a wild pitch – he then closed the door on the other side of the table – similar to McCullers’ 4-inning save against the Yankees in game 6 of the ALCS – Peacock dominated the opponent completely.

In the first game of the three games in Houston, the Japanese disappointed all along the line. For him it was already over after 1 2/3 innings and four runs (6 hours). Not only did he dig a big hole for his team, his early retirement also meant that manager Dave Roberts had to fall back on the Bullpen at an early stage and often. This in turn could also compromise the coming two games of the weekend.

American-League-Ballpark also means: There is the Designated Hitter again! Astros manager A. J. Hinch relied on Evan Gattis, even though it went against a right-handed man, leaving Carlos Beltran out. The Dodgers occupied their DH-Spot with Joc Pederson, Kike Hernandez took over Left Field. Logan Forsythe was also allowed to play second base after Chase Utley’s defensive run in Game 2.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was once again very active. He made three – out of four possible – offensive changes and again showed himself to be very aggressive in terms of bullpen management – he also brought out five relief pitcher from the necessity created by Darvishs appearance.

It’s different, A. J. Hinch: As usual, he trusted his starting lineup. On the pitching side, he replaced Brad Peacock for Starter McCullers as a regular starter instead of relying on his reliefs. And was rewarded.
