Daniel Theis is becoming more and more established with the Boston Celtics. Against the Sacramento Kings, the German played his first double double double. Dennis Schröder also played well and was unable to prevent his Hawks from going bankrupt again. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are slipping ever further into crisis.
In an overloaded rookie class, Malik Monk was the first one to fall off a bit. Against the Bucks, the Shooting Guard set a first scent mark. The former Kentucky player scored 18 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and thus played a major role in the victory of his colours. Giannis Antetokounmpo had to stand by with five fouls. At 86:85 for the Bucks shortly before the end of the third section, the Greek took this fatal foul.

The Hornets promptly used this to create a 21:9 run, which was ultimately the decisive factor. Antetokounmpo (14 points, 13 rebounds) returned seven minutes before the end, but the gap was already 11 points, which Milwaukee was unable to turn over. Apart from the fouls, it didn’t work out for the Greek freak. After the first quarter, the forward scored only five points and thus remained well below its previous season’s average (33.7 points per game).
Kemba Walker (26) also had a good day for Charlotte, who was really hot in the first half and scored six of his seven throws (3/3 threesomes) after 24 minutes. In addition to Kemba, Dwight Howard (17 points, 11 rebounds) and the other rookie, Dwayne Bacon (10), who also scored important throws in the final section, were also convincing.
The best man in the Bucks was Khris Middleton, who scored a career high of 43 points (15/28 FG, 5/11 threesomes) and also played 7 assists. Malcolm Brogdon (20) also helped to keep it a tight match despite the off-night of Antetokounmpo. However, the Hornets shot 53.6 percent out of the field (14/25 threesomes) and only managed to make 11 turnovers. Milwaukee nevertheless set a franchise record: 19 distance throws (under 36 attempts) were never before.
What’s wrong with the Cavs? At home, too, the Pacers should not be victorious. On Tuesday there was a longer session on the defensive problems, but obviously it didn’t help. Indiana scored fable odds from the field: 55.1 percent of the litters sat, from downtown the guests scuttled astronomical 61.5 percent (16/26 threesomes).
The game was balanced most of the time. At the beginning of the last twelve minutes, Indiana established a double-digit lead. But LeBron James wanted to avert defeat. After a Dunk and an And One the Cavs shortened to 94:97, but the Pacers scored in their next four possessions and left no doubt who would leave the court as the winner.
It was not noticeable to the guests that they had already played Sacramento the day before. With Thaddeus Young (26,12/18 FG), Victor Oladipo (23,5/7 Dreier) and Darren Collison (25,9/10 FG, 8 Assists) three players scored more than 20 points. In addition, Cory Joseph as Sixth Man with 9 points and 6 assists made a good game.
In Cleveland, James (33 points, 14/22 FG, 11 assists, 8 turnovers) was the most against defeat. Kevin Love got a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds), but his odds were not too high (4/12 FG). In addition, only Derrick Rose (19) and Jeff Green (15) scored double-digit points. Once again, the threesome with the cavs was problematic. Only 22.6 percent of the experiments were sunk.
For the first time in four years, the Sixers have a balanced balance sheet. The main reason for this was once again Ben Simmons, who again flirted violently with a triple double. 19 points (8/16 FG), 13 rebounds and 9 assists stood for the Australian in the boxing score. However, the Hawks made it harder than expected for the hosts. After three quarters, the game was still perfectly balanced (93:93).
But then another youngster from Philly, Joel Embiid, took over. The center scored 11 of its 21 points in the final section. Atlanta had no answer to that question, also because 6 turnovers were a little too much. Dennis Schröder made the next good match for the Hawks. 25 points (10/17 FG) and 6 assists were scored by the German, who pocketed his two threesomes. However, he also suffered four ball losses.
Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer got angry about other things:”We have to find ways of not starting so slowly.” At 34:25, Atlanta lost the first quarter, but the team fought their way back into the match, thanks in part to good Taurean Prince (17), while Schröder-Backup Malcolm Delaney left the game with ankle problems.
In Philly, on the other hand, Simmons was the big topic:”He can do a lot more than that,”said Robert Covington,”In a few years’ time we’ll have a lot more fun,” and the vowed man himself has a lot of potential:”I’ll be more dark,”announced Simmons.”I’m out there and I think the opponents are pretty big. But when I have just started to get drunk…” Philly fans should have a lot of fun with this boy in the near future.
