Olympic Games: German athletes in muted colours for Olympics and Paralympics

99 days before the start of the Winter Games (9. until 25 February) the German athletes gave a first taste of Pyeongchang at the presentation of the Olympic clothing.

In Düsseldorf, Olympic champion Eric Frenzel (Nordic Combination), figure skaters Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot as well as national ice hockey player Christian Ehrhoff presented the “Team Deutschland” collection.

In contrast to the flashy colourful outfit of the games from four years ago in Sochi, this time more muted colours predominate. The jackets for the opening ceremony are beige and green. Red hooded sweaters are one of the colours in the collection. The German participants of the Paralympics (8th place) will also be able to participate in the Paralympics. till 18. Recently, the Russian doping scandal and the security situation in the divided country had clouded the anticipation of the games. Even the still sluggish ticket sales also dampened the mood.

At the winter games in Sochi, the German team finished sixth in the medal table with 19 medals (8/6/5). However, the doping scandal may change the yield in the coming weeks.
