NBA: Rose: Minute limit remains unchanged

The Cleveland Cavaliers will continue to exercise caution in the case of Derrick Rose. According to media reports, Point Guard will only be used to a limited extent during the entire 2017/18 season. The reason: Rose should take care of the playoffs.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reports that the 29-year-old’s deployment time will be limited to approximately 28 to 31 minutes per game. Head coach Tyronn Lue, Cavs athletics coach Steve Spiro and Rose’s agent B. J. have the same. Armstrong, despite the good performance of the Point Guard in past games, agreed to join forces.

Over the past five years, Rose has missed more than 200 games due to various injuries. In the current season, the 2011 MVP had to pause because of an ankle injury after Rose only changed to Cleveland last summer. Now it is to be used in the regular season in a limited way to protect his body for the playoffs.

“First of all, let me say: I’m just happy to be a part of this team, a part of something very special,”Rose told ESPN,”I can’t do anything against a minute limit. But with all my injuries from the past, I’m kind of used to it. Whatever the team and coach’s staff ask me to do, I’ll cooperate.”

In the last game against the Wizards Rose scored a strong 20 points, 13 of them in the first quarter. In a total of five games so far, the 29-year-old has scored an average of 16 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists with a throwing rate of 50.8 percent.
