The Denver Broncos (3-5) will receive the New England Patriots (6-2) for the Sunday Night Game of Week 10. While in Denver the strong defensive force is increasingly annoyed by the weak offense, the power relations of the patriots are distributed exactly the other way round. The game will be played live on DAZN on Monday night from 2.30 am!
“They are very explosive,”Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Monday about New England’s next opponent. And none of the journalists present were sure that he was actually referring to the offense that scored just 226 yards and 35 Russian yards in the match against Philadelphia Eagles last week.
The Broncos have lost their last four games and now want to finish this series against the reigning champion. This will be achieved with a quarterback named Brock Osweiler, who will have the advantage of coach Vance Joseph over Trevor Siemian after his first season start against the Eagles.
Joseph quickly argued that ten exceptions in seven games were too many, after deciding to put Siemian on the bench. In addition, the offense came to a halt and Joseph hoped for an end of the defeat series by swapping at the quarterback position.
“I think Brock had an excellent week of preparation”, Joseph defends the measure to trust in Osweiler against the patriots. Responding to Siemian’s performance, he left no doubt about the 25-year-old’s mistakes:”He threw two interceptions that should not happen to him. With some litters he was simply not well advised. Brock, on the other hand, had good scenes. I think he deserves another week to show us he’s the right man.”
Osweiler himself is confident that he will not be affected by the gossip against the Eagles:”I can promise you that this game will not discourage me. I’ll work harder than ever to solve these problems and get us back on the winning track.”
The biggest problem the Broncos have had so far on the offensive is that they are undermining too many turnovers. A total of 19 passed Denver by Week 9, only the Cleveland Browns had more. Osweiler threw two exceptions last week.
Above all, a good start to the game will be important for the Broncos, because the otherwise strong defensive action against the Eagles was already demotivated at an early stage. Lying in second place in approved yards, the defense is very dissatisfied with the current negative run and the clear defeat against the Eagles.”If you lose against teams that score 50 points, you’ll have to come up with a few things,”said Cornerback Chris Harris.
The last time the Broncos scored over 50 points in the 2010 season they finished with a 4-12 record,”It was embarrassing,”said linebacker Shane Ray,”the TV stations even changed the game, it’s humiliating to lose that way.”
With 419 yards, the Eagles are more successful than any other team this season against the Broncos,”No one has completed their tasks. I’ve made two offsides, that’s bad for the team,”Ray added,”I’m so frustrated because I want to try this and that’s not possible. We all have to do our jobs.”
“This is a confident squad,”Joseph said of his defenders,”such things are happening, the Eagles had a great game plan,” and now Tom Brady’s patriots are waiting for Denver to take on the next tough task, and Belichick will have worked out a plan to crack the Broncos defense.
Von Miller’s defence must deliver their best level of defence, as the patriots are still the best offense in the league with an average of 411 yards per game. Tight End Rob Gronkowski Denver could once again pose a problem for Tight End, as he has proven himself a few times in the past to be a broncos killer: Gronk has scored over 100 yards in a game against Denver three times in his career, and he has already scored seven touchdowns against the Colorado team.
The patriots have to give up receiver Chris Hogan, who injured himself two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers on the shoulder. Despite Bye-Week, Hogan will probably not get fit in time, so Brady could play Phillip Dorsett more often.
Right tackle Marcus Cannon is also questionable because of an ankle injury, but the patriots have a solid replacement with LaAdrian Waddle and Cam Fleming,”I think it’s important to have depth in the squad in this position,” Belichick said. If you’re understaffed in the tackle positions, it’s more likely to affect you than other players.”
If the pressure of the Broncos Pass rush becomes too high, Brady could try one of his rare runs. In his career, the star quarterback has collected a whopping 968 Rush-yards so far, and could thus become the first player in the NFL to reach the 1000-yards mark in his 18th season. Season exceeds.
“It’s always fun to watch the tape on Monday and see how slow it looks,”said Running Back James White with a wink. White himself stands at 1349 receiving yards and only 380 Rush-yards,”He has the 1000 before me, so I can’t say much,”White said.
Defense problems have improved in the last few games of the Patriots, but Defensive Coordinator Matt Patricia’s unit is still in last place in approved yards,”We play better, but we’re not where we want to go yet,”said Duron Harmon. The Defense around Patriots-Safety wants to achieve more ball wins:”We didn’t get enough out of our chances. We talked about how to force more turnovers.”
“The Broncos have some problems, hopefully we’ll be able to manage some of them,” said Trey Flowers,”Brock Osweiler will be warned, otherwise the Broncos’ starting quarterback will soon even be called Paxton Lynch.
