The Boston Celtics are currently ploughing their way through the league and are hoping to battle their way into the top game at night on Friday night against the Golden State Warriors victory no. 14 (at 2am on DAZN). Their coach Steve Kerr came out as a fan from afar.
“It looks as if Boston will be the team of the future in the East, with all the assets they have, the young talent and coaching, and the outstanding Kyrie Irving,”Kerr said to ESPN,”It looks like a team that will be high up in the East for a long time to come. Whether their time has already come or will come in the future will be revealed, but it looks as if it is already so far away for them.”
Boston (13-2) and Golden State (11-3) currently have the best record at the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, before the Dubs perform in Boston on Friday night. The last four games in Boston were all won by Golden State.
“You are well-positioned and motivated,”Kerr warned,”This is a team that has steadily improved in recent years. Even without Gordon Hayward, they’re beating up a bunch of teams. That’s why this is gonna be a great matchup. We know it’s gonna be a tough game. You see these teams from the other conference only twice a season, so it will be fun to see where you stand compared to the other contenders.”
The dubs coach from Irving, against whom he had to coach in the last three finals when he was still playing in Cleveland, was particularly enthusiastic:”I think it’s just his team,”said Kerr,”He was dominant in Cleveland, but it was always clear that it was LeBron’s team. Now it seems as if he has reached a new level. He knew what he was doing when he left the cavs. I admire Kyrie.”
Irving himself also confirmed on Wednesday that he is looking forward to the match against the Dubs:”It’s an incredible series we’re about to play. Now, of course, all the talk comes from:’ When does it end? What happens when the Warriors come to Boston?’ I’m looking forward to it.'”
