NBA: LeBron on its own – Kemba with 47

LeBron James takes the Cavaliers on his back with another spectacular performance. Against the Clippers a hard-fought overtime victory jumps out. The Mavericks lose against the Timberwolves despite Dirk Nowitzki’s good performance. Meanwhile, Kemba Walker with his 47 points puts everyone in the shade – but it’s not enough to win. The Nuggets, Suns, Bulls, Nets, Pacers and Heat all celebrate victories – the Pelicans worry about Anthony Davis.

Obviously, this was the night of comebacks at the Association, and similar to the Spurs or the Wizards, Indiana fought back again after a big gap. The Pacers were now in the lead with 22 points in the third section, but there was no sign of abandonment.

Led by Lance Stephenson, who scored 13 points (all in the fourth quarter) and 8 rebounds, the Pacers started their race to catch up. The late target accuracy from a distance was particularly helpful. In the final section, Indiana scuttled 6 out of 7 downtown attempts (15/28 threesomes, 53.6 percent in total) and the hosts finally managed to win the game, unlike Washington.

“We didn’t play well in the end,”Pistons coach Stan van Gundy summed up the match soberly:”The whole game has turned around in the last 18 minutes,” said Stephenson and Victor Oladipo (21 points, 15 rebounds) or Thad Young (18 points, 5 rebounds). On the side of the pistons, Reggie Jackson and Avery Bradley were top scorers with 16 points each. Andre Drummond contributed a double-double (11 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 turnovers).

“That was pretty gruesome,”said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra shortly after his team had brought the victory against the wizards in dry clothes. He’s right, despite his victory, the 47-year-old was only partially satisfied with his team’s performance.

On the one hand, there would be a great defensive performance in the first half, in which Miami held his opponent from the capital at just 29 points and could therefore look forward to a big advantage (50:29). But on the other hand, the Heat gave away that 25-point lead in the meantime, halfway down the road, two recklessly.

After all, they had John Wall under control throughout the entire season. The Point Guard disappointed with a meager 8 points (3/12 FG) and 8 assists. Best man at the Wizards was his backcourt colleague Bradley Beal, who scored 26 points and 10 rebounds and was therefore an important factor in the comeback.

In the last minute he even held the lead. Instead of trying a relatively open threesome, the Shooting Guard took a step forward and ended up failing with a jumper for possible compensation. The Wizards had to accept defeat against Miami after four consecutive victories in series. Among the guests Hassan Whiteside (22 points, 16 rebounds, 10/12 FG) and James Johnson (20) were particularly convincing.

The evening began with bad news from the point of view of the Nets: D’ Angelo Russell, who was taken out of Los Angeles by trade last summer, had to undergo knee surgery and is lost indefinitely. The good news? Spencer Dinwiddie is apparently willing to fill that gap.

“As a starter and point guard in my position, I try to lead the team,”said the 24-year-old, explaining his good performance:”Today’s victory is for[Russell], our hearts are with him, our fellow player and brother,” Dinwiddie scored 25 points, presented himself from a distance (6/10 threesome) and distributed 8 assists (at no turnover!).

Allen Crabbe scored 18 points and DeMarre Carroll scored 17 points. They gave the Nets a 22-point advantage at half-time, but thanks to Raul Neto (22 points) and Rodney Hood (17), Utah managed to fight his way back to 8 points, but it was not enough to win. This means that seven of the last eight games were lost for Utah. The absence of Rudy Gobert was noticeable at all corners and ends.
