NHL: Successfully catching up with Kühnhackls Penguins

National hockey player Tom Kühnhackl has rewarded himself with his second consecutive success in the NHL with champion Pittsburgh Penguins after a remarkable race to catch up. Despite a 1-3 deficit after the second period, the 25-year-old German’s 25-year-old team forced the extra time 64 seconds ahead of the final siren by equalising to 4-4 and then scored the victory with a goal from Canadian superstar Sidney Crosby.

Kühnhackl played a minor role in the Penguins. The Landshuter came to just under eight minutes. Pittsburgh continues to rank seventh in the west on a play-off course with 29 points.

Meanwhile, without Kühnhackls national team mate Korbinian Holzer, the Anaheim Ducks took the next steamer. The Californians lost 3:7 to the Chicago Blackhawks and lost for the fourth time in a row.
