MLB: Carlos Beltran receives job interview at New York Yankees

Carlos Beltran has an interview for the manager’s job at the New York Yankees on Wednesday. The recently resigned retired World Series World Series winner with the Houston Astros is the sixth candidate to be interviewed by the Bronx Bombers.

Beltran, who had played for the Yankees until 2016, will have his chance to convince General Manager Brian Cashman’s Yankees Front Office of his merits, according to various media reports.

Beltran himself admitted to ESPN weeks ago that he was already interested in the job:”I am aware that he is interested in working as a manager in the future,” Cashman recently admitted to reporters,”but I’ll leave it at that,” added Cash.

Since deciding not to hire manager Joe Girardi after ten years – his contract had expired – five candidates have already had interviews with the Yankees: Yankee bench coach Rob Thomson, former manager of the Indians and Mariners Eric Wedge, Giants Bench Coach Hensley Meulens, Dodgers Third Base Coach Chris Woodward and ESPN-Exp

Beltran was active in the Bronx for three years and beat 270 with 56 home runs and 180 RBI. After winning the World Series with the Astros this year, he finally announced his retirement after 20 years at the MLB.
