NFL: Extend Eagles with Wide Receiver Jeffery

The Philadelphia Eagles have extended the contract with Wide Receiver Alshon Jeffery for four years. According to NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, Jeffery is to earn 52 million dollars by 2021, of which 27 million are guaranteed.

“I love it here,”Jeffery said in a first statement,”I feel honored to play for this team and these fans. Everyone welcomed me with open arms, now I am looking forward to being here for a long time to come. We have a great group of people here, and I’m happy to be part of it.”

The new contract makes Jeffery the league’s fifth-best paid wide receiver behind DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant, according to Sportrac.

“Alshon has been a great addition to this organization both on and off the pitch,”the Eagles said in their statement,”We want to make sure we build a strong team around players like Alshon, and we look forward to his future in this city.”

In his first year in Philadelphia, Jeffery is well on the way to making some career marks. He leads the Eagles in play-through (89) with 619 yards for seven touchdowns. The 27-year-old came to the Eagles from the Chicago Bears in the off-season.
