NBA: Matt Barnes announces his resignation

After 15 years in the NBA, Matt Barnes has announced his resignation via the social media. The champion with the Golden State Warriors was last without a contract and now hangs up his shoes at the age of 37.

“I’ve had a good run over 15 years,”Barnes told the fans on Instagram,”I’ve traveled the world and met a lot of cool people. Some of them will remain my brothers for the rest of my life.”

At the same time, Barnes announced that new business opportunities have opened up for him. How exactly the former forward will earn his money in the future is still unclear.

Barnes was drawn by the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round in 2002, but it wasn’t until 2015/16 that Barnes was awarded the Tennessee franchise. He wore the jersey of nine different teams, including the Golden State Warriors. With the Dubs, the UCLA graduate won his only championship this summer.

In 929 games the Forward played an average of 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds. Mostly he came from the bank and over the years gained a reputation as a hard and physical defender, who could sink a threesome.
