Isaiah Thomas made his debut for Cleveland Cavaliers after a long injury break. The playmaker initially came from the bank, but then played strong minutes and helped the Cavs to win against the Portland Trail Blazers after three consecutive bankruptcies.
Isaiah Thomas is back and made his debut in the clear victory of the Cavs over the Portland Trail Blalzers – and that looked pretty neat. In the run-up to the game, a maximum of 12 minutes was discussed, and at the end IT was on the field for almost 19 minutes. During this time the small dervish from the bank scored 17 points (6/12 FG) and distributed 3 assists. Even more importantly for Cleveland, he was immediately involved in the Cavs winning this victory.
In Thomas’ Stint in the second half the lead increased from 3 to 12 points, which broke the morale of the guests. Eight minutes to go, the Point Guard went out and the Cavs rocked the game home, ending the series of three defeats at once. LeBron James gave his co-star a hug and coach Ty Lue smiled at Thomas on the sidelines to say two words:’ Welcome back.
“It’s been a long journey for me,”Thomas said after the match,”I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now 2918 is going to be a special year for me”, words that should be music in the ears of the Cavs. Especially James is likely to be exonerated. The King only played Portland for 34 minutes and played a solid 24 points (10/17 FG) and 8 assists. Kevin Love contributed efficient 19 points (5/7 FG, 4/5 threesomes, 5/6 FT) and 7 rebounds. Dwyane Wade, who spent a lot of time with Thomas on the court, scored 15 points.
But on Portland welcomed a returnee. Damian Lillard (25) scored six threesomes after a two-week break and played 6 assists, but couldn’t be satisfied with seven ball losses. Jusuf Nurkic (23,10/12 FG) occupied the cavs as well, but after a hard foul by LeBron, he hit the ground in the second quarter. But the Bosnian was able to carry on.
