LeBron James has to wait at least one more game for the magical score of 30,000 points: At home against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Cleveland Cavaliers took a nasty beating.
Exactly 25 points were missing LeBron before this match to the magical mark of 30,000 points – with an average of exactly 27 points this season, that should not be a problem, hoped the fans in Q. But after the first twelve minutes, the king stood at a meager 3 points (1/4 FG), at the half time it did not look much better with 9 points.
The Thunders, on the other hand, started as if shot from a pistol and gave the Cavs an almost perfect quarter 43 points: Russell Westbrook had 7 Assists after the first section of the game, Paul George had 10 points, PG was in a really good position, scored well (36 points, 12/19 FG) and made it really difficult for LeBron the other way round. It didn’t help that Kevin Love had to pass sick after only three minutes of play.

The Cavs, who had been trailing 14:33 after a George’s triple, were trailing by 14:33. They got shouting from their own fans – and scored only a minimal increase in the defensive: 76:60 led OKC at halftime, Cleveland had never allowed so many points in the first half. After all, Isaiah Thomas (24 points, 8/14 FG) ran hot with 12 points in the third quarter, so they were shortened to 92:104 in the meantime. And LeBron? Layup – 16 points. Another layup – 18 points.
Seven points were missing when the final quarter began. But the lead of the so strong playing Thunder did not shrink below 20 points, and so the King only took two throws and finally about six and a half minutes before the end on the bench place (8/17 FG, 7 Assists). On Tuesday we will go to the San Antonio Spurs, where the brand will most certainly fall.
The Thunder only narrowly failed at the 150-point mark. The stars outdid (Carmelo Anthony: 29 points, 10 rebounds; Westbrook: 23 points, 20 assists (!), 9 rebounds), Steven Adams also scored a double double (25 and 10).
