NFL: Seattle Seahawks postpone workout with Colin Kaepernick

The Seattle Seahawks have postponed a planned trial training with quarterback Colin Kaepernick. According to Thursday’s media reports, the reason for this was a lack of clarity as to how Kaepernick would behave in the future during the national anthem.

The Seahawks had scheduled a workout with Kaepernick two weeks ago, but apparently decided at the last minute to postpone it. Reason for this are once again the hymn protests.

The franchise is said to have asked Kaepernick how he would behave in the future during the national anthem and whether he would plan further protests. The decision has nothing to do with kneeling during the protests in the past, as NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports. However, the ex-Niner is said not to have made a clear statement.

Now the Seahawks will probably wait for a clear answer from Kaepernick until they make an appointment for a workout. Both parties intend to meet at a later date.

Seattle is the only team that expressed interest in signing Kaperernick last year. After a meeting, however, they decided on a different quarterback solution.

Currently, the Seahawks have no backup quarterback after releasing Trevone Boykin. Over the past few years, the franchise has not withheld the commitment of players who have raised social grievances away from the football field.
