NBA: Butler about Fultz: “We are all here for him”

Jimmy Butler of the Philadelphia 76ers has given courage to the former No.1-Pick Markelle Fultz. The star forward of the Sixers continues to believe in the injured Guard and also offered him his support.

“I want Markelle to know that we all support him,” Butler told the media before the game against the New York Knicks. “We want him to be great, we want him to keep working. All these rumors are just there, but they’re just things that come from outside.”

Fultz is currently not with the Sixers and is in New York, where he is being examined by another shoulder specialist. Fultz already had problems with this shoulder in his rookie season, so the former No.1 pick could only play 14 games. Finally, rumours spread that the Sixers are looking for a trade for Fultz.

“I’m glad when he’s here,” Butler continued, “Everyone likes him here. Whenever he’s ready to train again, we’ll all be there for him.” Fultz was particularly worried about the problems with his throw, especially on the free-throw line. The Guard has already changed its release several times – with mixed results. Fultz scored just 57 percent of his free throws this season.

The sophomore played a total of 19 games this season, in which he scored 8.2 points and 3.1 assists per game, scoring just 41.2 per cent of his throws.
